Q. What courses do you offer and what are the hours?
A. The hours for training in cosmetology, manicuring and instructor are:

  • Full time: Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Part time: Tuesday-Friday 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. & Sat. 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Q. Do you have job placement?
A. The school maintains a placement service that is available to graduating students and past graduates. The school does not guarantee placement. Area salon owners and managers contact the school and leave information about job opportunities currently available. A placement service information form is filled out and placed on the student bulletin board. Periodically we arrange for salon owners and managers to speak to the senior class when they are looking for new employees.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. The tuition cost for each course is as follows:

  • Cosmetology: $14,500.00 + $442.00 for books and kit
  • Manicuring: $6,000 + $277.00 for books and kit
  • Esthetics: $7,000.00 + $500.00 for books and kit
  • Cosmetology Instructors training: $3,400.00
  • Specialty Instructors training: $1735.00

Q. When do classes start?
A. The Gallery College of Beauty offers six class starts a year in
February, April, June, July, September and November. Please call (586) 783-7358 for exact date.

Q. What level of education do I need to begin classes?
A. Requirements for entrance to the Gallery College of Beauty comply with the minimum standards of Michigan State Board of Cosmetology. This school admits only persons having a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education or the recognized equivalent of such a certificate or over the age of 16 and has the ability to benefit from the training. The ability to benefit from the training will be determined by a passing grade on a nationally approved test.

Q. What do I wear to school?
A. Students must wear dress slacks, any color shirt (short sleeves are acceptable), and rubber-soled shoes. It is required that each student wear a smock and a name tag prescribed by the school.

Q. Are there payment plans available?
A. Payment plans, loans and financial aid are available to those who qualify.

Q. Where exactly are you located?
A. The Gallery College of Beauty is located north of 16-mile road on the East Side of Gratiot in the Clinton Commons Shopping Center. Our address is 38132 S. Gratiot, Clinton Township Michigan, 48036.

A. The standard estimated completion rates for each course are as follows:

  • Cosmetology Full time: 12 months
  • Cosmetology Part time: 17 months
  • Manicuring Full time: 5 months
  • Manicuring Part time: 7 months
  • Esthetics Full time: 5 months
  • Esthetics Part time: 7 months
  • Instructors training Full time: 5 months
  • Instructors training Part time: 7 months
